Professional Experience
Michael Sims is an accomplished real estate professional with over 30 years’ experience in the District of Columbia. He has extensive knowledge of commercial real estate and DC markets. Michael has successfully completed complex sale and lease transactions of office, mixed-use and multifamily properties. He is an organized and detail-oriented individual who exemplifies professionalism and an ability to manage multiple projects and actions.
Michael started Advisory Real Estate Services, LLC in May of 2008. ARES, LLC is a full-service investment real estate brokerage firm. He is an owner operator of multi-family and single-family properties. Michael served as President of the DC Small Apartment Building Association, 2003 to 2008.
He was elected to Advisory Neighborhood Commission (ANC) as ANC Commissioner for 1E02 in Mount Pleasant, Washington, DC from 2001-2003. He is a native Washingtonian and has lived in DC for the past 35 years.
Prior to starting ARES, LLC, Michael served as a Senior Associated Broker at Marcus & Millichap and specialized in selling multi-family apartment buildings from 2002 - 2008. From 1995 – 2002 Michael was affiliated with REMAX. Prior to REMAX, Michael was affiliated with Long & Foster. Michael graduated from Morgan State University in Baltimore, Md. with a B.S degree in accounting and is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.
